The objective of the initiative is to further enhance the skills of public relations practitioners in the Bahraini government, and exert the international best practices and principals. The several-month training programme covered various aspects of public relations and communication theories and practices, in sessions that were run by international trainers and professionals.
The participants completed various projects and researches related to implementing their strategic plans, and benefited from a business trip to Brussels where they attended intensive sessions with global institutes like the European Parliament and the European Union Commissioner to learn from their experiences.
Shaikh Mohammed Bin Essa Al-Khalifa, Chief Executive of the EDB, commented:
“The first group of graduates from this advanced international diploma programme in public relations is the first fruit reaped from the joint initiative between the EDB and BIPA, the first of its kind conducted in the sector by official entities. The objective is to develop the public sector practices in the public relations and work in harmony according to the international best practices. This can make the sector more effective and efficient with the various stakeholders.”
BIPA’s GM, Dr. Raed bin Shams, said:
“We are very proud to see that this programme has given fruitful results with the graduation of a group of professionals who are now more capable to add more expertise to the public relations sector in the government. This programme will continue with leading international institutions to help elevate the productivity and efficiency of the governmental practitioners in the field. It is another milestone for BIPA as a partner in excellence and sustainable change through training employees of the private sector.”
The advance international diploma programme in public relations was graded seventh between the professional certificates attained from Britain, and was accredited by Edexcel, the UK’s largest awarding body offering academic and vocational qualifications.
