What is Vision 2030?
Bahrain now competes in a regional and global economy, and needs to set a clear direction for the future development of Bahrain’s government, economy and society.
At the heart of Vision 2030 is the common goal of building a better life for every Bahraini. That means better housing, better education, better healthcare and better employment opportunities.
Why do we need a vision, and why do we need it now?
Bahrain has made great advances in a short space of time, but we need to keep up with a fast changing and competitive world.
This means we need to clearly understand where we are going, and what shape we want Bahrain to be in, in the years to come.
We must think ahead and plan for our future; for ourselves, our families and our nation.
We must also ensure that our government, people and business sector is united and work together to achieve these common goals.
Whose Vision is this?
The vision is based around Bahrainis, with the main goal of enhancing Bahrainis lives and creating future prosperity for them.
Vision 2030 has been created by Bahrainis, for Bahrainis. Over a period of time, Bahrainis from all walks of life have participated in discussions about where they see their future and the future of their country. We heard what they said and from the discussions Vision 2030 was born.
What are we going to do with the Vision, and who is going to do it?
The government will implement this vision through the setting up of the National Strategy. Following this every ministry will formulate its own executive plan, in co-operation with all other authorities.
This will help the government and the private sector deliver economic growth and development in important areas such as job opportunities, Education, Training, Healthcare and Justice.
How will it affect my life?
Developing the performance of government, and enhancing its effectiveness, will naturally enhance the everyday life of all Bahrainis.
For example, the Vision is to prepare future Bahrainis for success in this changing world, and so for young Bahrainis that means more and better training and education. With a greater education comes greater opportunity for Bahrainis to achieve more and better jobs with higher salaries.
Another example is in the healthcare sector, with greater services in the future, you will receive better treatment, and an improved lifestyle.
How long will it take?
Building an economy that will last cannot be done overnight. This is a long term strategy, where everyone has to play his role in order to achieve the vision. The Government will enhance its performance in order to implement the vision. Over the next few years, you will see extended and improved education systems, enhanced transparency and social development programs.
Through Vision 2030, Bahrain will meet the needs of this generation, and at the same time ensure that we plan effectively to meet the needs of future generations.
Vision 2030 wants to create a fairer society, with more opportunity and greater services for all Bahrainis. Vision 2030 wants to help you fulfil your potential.
How will it change the Government and Government Services?
Vision 2030 lays out the plan for a government that is more accountable to its people. This includes improvements to strategic planning and policy making, which in turn means better services for you.
How will it change my business?
Vision 2030 implementation ensures there will be more business opportunities for you as well as the ability to grow. This is done, over time, through improved regulation, greater trained personnel, and the development of better government services.
What is expected of me?
The vision can only be achieved if we all work together. It is a partnership between society, business and government that will see a better life built for every Bahraini, and an increasingly brighter future. Everybody has a role to play in the implementation of Vision 2030.
The student can achieve it through his ongoing effort in his studies, the worker through his efforts to better his workplace, and the opinion leaders through guiding society towards cooperation and solidarity. So all are responsible and capable of carrying out their roles in building up society and achieving the ambitions of the Kingdom and all Bahrainis.
