Market 338 will take place from 5pm to 10pm on Thursday outside Al Riwaq Art Space, situated in Block 338 in Adliya’s restaurant district.
"The vendor selection process has been a long one, but nonetheless, I am happy to say that all our exhibitors are very talented and creative individuals. Finally, Bahraini artists have a space showcase their work to the public! We are looking forward to meet everyone who attends Market 338!" - Project Manager, Yasser Al-Hawaj
"I am very pleased to finally announce that Market 338 has been realized and will take place this Thursday. The event has been worked on for the past year and a lot of hard work has gone into ensuring that the event is of a very high and professional standard. Market 338, a first of its kind in Bahrain, will act as a stage for many Bahraini's, and non Bahraini's alike, to exhibit their work to the public and receive the acknowledgment they are very much entitled to," Bayan Kanoo, Director of Al Riwaq Art Space said.
“The EDB support to this event is in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain strategic plans to activate cultural and tourism activities that will in turn add to the development of the national economy, a main objective we are working on as per the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Chairman of the EDB. Block 338 in Adliya is now receiving visitors from Bahrain as well as tourists visiting the area. The partnership between the private sector and government organizations will help activate this area and develop it to be one of the main points of attraction in the future.”
In the press conference, Isa AbdulRahman, Director of the National Communication at the EDB, said:
The Market 338 is part of various initiatives to provide the public with innovative events, and aims to attract top local talent to create an atmosphere that will inspire fresh ideas. It will feature works of art that have been created by Bahrainis and expatriate artists that are based in the Kingdom.
This was announced in a press conference between the Economic Development Board (EDB), the patronage of the event, and its organizer the Al Riwaq Art Space.
In a bid to bring in more commercial and tourism activity to Block 338 in Adliya, a traditional outdoor market and cultural activities are being planned to lure more Bahraini visitors, residents, and tourists.
